About Big Stone Gap Redevelopment and Housing Authority (BSGRHA)

The Big Stone Gap Redevelopment and Housing Authority (BSGR&HA) provides the land, develops new and rehabilitates existing low-income, single family and multifamily housing. It participates in federal (Rural Development and HUD) rehabilitation, weatherization and rental assistance programs. Under BSGR&HA, 55 single-family lots have been developed, which offers a subsidized rate to low- and moderate-income families. It has purchased a 97 unit apartment complex through the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Program, and manages this Virginia Housing Development Authority (VHDA) Section 8 subsidized property.

The Authority manages 105 Section Rental Assistance Vouchers and Certificates. Woodstone Village contains 18 elderly units and 36 one and two bedroom family units.
